Poemetry: Windswept Lusts

Soar on but soar alone,

soar on the wings you own.

Another’s feather can’t

lift your breast from the land.

The winds are made for none

but you and you as one.

Forget the tree and leaf

and the comforting breeze;

 forget the worm and bee;

forget the murd’rous streets.

Take the skies on your pinion:

the air is your dominion.

Rule and roost on its gusts,

grasp by quill your windswept lusts.
