Poemetry: Held On Too Long

Day sleeps, and the night is burning.

I float in your low tide.

Questions teem where truth is blurring.

Smiles lie when joy sighs.

Remembering you in sun rays.

Frozen in the moonlight.

Searching for an answered phrase.

I’ve held on, for too long.

Around the skies, fingers clinging.

Swinging at snow clouds.

Present wringing, the past is sinking.

Future empty of its vows.

Foolish hearts have foolish dreams.

Running to the doubt.

Creeping scars bleed into the concrete.

Dawns spent, all end.
