Poemetry: Joy Entrenched

Entrenched in trenches, soldiers hold their ground

And stand brave outnumbered by Dole unbound.

Their legs quiver, tremble, and bend assailed

By cannon, mortar, and gun near prevailed.

Hope, unveiled in thrums of airplane engines,

Looses hopeful bombs on wings of vengeance.

Dolor driven from the embattled heart

Retreats to return, further fight, restart,

Rearm, the ceaseless war with Joy’s nation,

As Hope joins with Joy in celebration.
